Compozers Encore 2017 Afrobeats Editions
You know the year is coming to an end when the Compozers drop an Afrobeats Edition. I absolutely love these guys and look forward to seeing them in December as they add a dope spin to all the biggest songs of the year. The added gospel influence that resonates in every one of their mixes just keeps them above the rest.
Check out their 2017 Live recorded Mix that features, Burna Boy, Maleek Berry and Wade Coal and many more influential Afrobeat artists that have influenced the sound of 2017.

A Night with the Compozers 5 is on Wednesday 20th December 2017 at the Roundhouse.

Music: Okenyo – ‘Woman’s World’

“Don’t look down on me” the track opening sample.

1.) File under inspirational and motivational anthems

2.) Play straight after Laura Mvula’s ‘Phenomenal Woman’.

Kenyan, Australian all round dope singer Okenyo released the visuals of her latest single ‘Woman’s World’ and we are hooked, absolutely loving the cool, calm, collected soulful sound and inspirational lyrics with great affirmation. It is indeed a woman’s world.

From the styling by Benjamin Joseph, to choreography and all round feature of beautiful women including the amazing singer Thando.

We look forward to see what is next for Okenyo it is only a matter of time before the rest of the world catches on and starts raving about her and with her.

Music: NEWish Music Videos

Azekel – New Romance

Azekel is part of a unique group in the music industry the soulful male artist sits side to side with the likes of Kwabs, Angel and a recent addition, Raheem singer/songwriters who offer depth and pure artistry, his first video till today tops my favourite visual film and this is his latest release.

Sarkodie ft Castro – Adonai

Anyone who knows me has had to endure constant replays of this song, aside from Sarkodie being the only African rapper who delivers unique songs and has curved out a niche that leaves others eating dust, Catro’s feature adds volumes and depth to the deliverance and overall message  of the song. The video does lack great direction although working to tell of the tries and tribulations faced it mimic Kendricks Lamar “Bitch Don’t Kill My Video” within wardrobe choices.

FKA Twigs -Two Weeks

Directed by Nabil Elderkin the super photographer and music video director that has for many years created the videos that match some of our favourite artists song, last year after reading and interesting interview I was opened up to his cleaver and slick tactics that introduced the world to both his talents and also Kanye West, having heard of the buzz of a raising star in both his and Kanye’s hometown Chicago Nabil purcharced Kanye’s domain name of which his management reached out to purchase from him, long story short this lead to him taking West’s most recognised images with LV bags and directing a number of his videos. This is his latest masterpiece and it speaks for itself drawing most notably from ‘Queen of the Dame’ staring Aaliyah and West’s ‘Power’ Nabil presents visuals that stick true to FKA Twings strong and sensual style.
